We believe church should be a place where people can belong, find community, and discover the hope of Jesus Christ. At Kern, you will experience a warm welcome, meet new people, and make new friends in a meaningful worship experience. Your kids will experience learning on their level, while having lots of fun in safe environments. Here is a list of frequently asked questions that can help you plan your visit.   • Exploring a church for the first time can be intimidating and confusing, but we also believe that it doesn’t have to be. At Kern you will find a warm welcome with new friends, worship to connect with, and a clean and safe environment for kids. We invite you to come as you are. When we gather to worship or to serve, we gather as we are and ask God to work through us. We want you to feel at home in worship, so here are some frequently asked questions that may be of some help. Feel free to contact us with any questions or for additional information.

  • Sundays are a great opportunity to find hope and connect with Jesus in worship.

    Contemporary Worship is at 9am in the Family Life Center (gym). This service is led by our worship band and is live streamed on YouTube.

    Traditional Worship is at 11am in our sanctuary. In this service you will encounter music led by our pipe organ and chancel choir.

  • ​You can check out our messages before you visit; you can even subscribe to our podcast to receive weekly inspiration directly. Pastor Will designs his messages to help you find hope and experience a life renewed by Jesus.

  • Most people dress casually when they come to Kern. Many wear jeans, slacks, and golf shirts. Some wear shorts and some even will wear dresses or suits. Primarily, we want you to feel comfortable, so feel free to dress as you desire.

  • Sunday mornings are exciting times for our youth and children’s ministries. Please know that your kids are welcome in all of our worship spaces. Each morning we have Sunday School for youth (middle and high school) and kids at 10am. Throughout the morning, we also have a nursery available for babies and toddlers with Bible-oriented preschool activities.

  • We also have Sunday School classes, serve opportunities, Wednesday night fellowship supper, and many other ways to find your place. To learn more, please contact the church office.

  • Our church is part of a larger group of churches known as United Methodists. Worldwide there are nearly 13 million United Methodists who worship and serve in nearly every corner of the world. As United Methodists we share basic beliefs and mission with other United Methodists, and we believe it is important for each local community to discern how to best live out their faith in their local context.
